Mahaz Advisory Council Meet on Community Issues

Staff Reporter | KMNN
BANGALORE: July 29, 2911.

The Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz (KMMM) held its advisory council meeting at Shadab Shadi Mahal here to discuss latest issues related to the Muslim Community and communal harmony. It was attended by Ulama, eminent personalities, and others affiliated with the Mahaz. Issues discussed included honorarium for Imams, problems of low-income mosques, teaching of Bhagawad Gita, and Muslim representation in KPSC, etc. Maulana Qadeer Ahmed Adaul Aamiri suggested centralizing community activities in Masjids. All homes surrounding a Masjid should compulsorily affiliate with it. The Masjid should have a complete database of the locality. All educational and social issues of the Muslim residents should be facilitated by the Masjid authorities. Every home should contribute a minimum of Rupees 100 which would strengthen the income of Masjid for its expenses. Maulana Aamiri alerted those who claim India to be their nation, “India is neither yours nor ours. It belongs to all of us”. The Maulana asked the Mahaz to meet the governor with regards to the Bhagwad Gita and KPSC representation issue. Moulana Waheeduddeen Khan Umari, Madani, Convener, Majlisul Ulama Karnataka, suggested Mahaz to take legal action against the Bhagwad Gita issue. Mr. Jaagirdaar from Gulbarga emphasized on expansion of Mahaz at Taluk level. Mr. Syed Iqbal Ahmed, joint convener, KMMM convened the programme. Mr. Syed Tanveer Ahmed, member of Mahaz executive committee introduced the latest issues in his inaugural talk.

The Daily Zikr of Khanqah-e-Aamiria

VIRTUES OF ZIKR

"Ala-bi-zikrillahi-tatma’inal-quloob.” S-13, V-28.

“Surely there is peace of heart in the Remembrance of Allah”

It is mentioned in Bukhari, as-Sahih (5:2353#6044), Mundhiri, at-Targhib wat-tarhib (2:256#2303) & Asqalani, Fath-ul-bari (11:210#6044) that:

Hadrath Abu Musa (RA) narrated that the Holy Prophet (SAWS) said “He who remembers his Lord and he who does not are like the living and the dead.”

In an another narration from Muslim, as-Sahih (1:539#779) it is reported that:

Abu Musa (RA) narrates that the Holy Prophet (SAWS) said, “The house in which Allah (SWT) is remembered and the one in which Allah (SWT) is not remembered are like the living and the dead.”

Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) narrates that Muawiyah (RA) came to a group of people in the mosque and said, “… The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) came to a group of his Companions in the mosque and said, ‘Why are you sitting?’ They said, ‘We are sitting remembering Allah and paying our thanks to Him for His favour of guiding us to Islam.’ The Holy Prophet (SAWS) said, ‘Do you say that on oath that is what has made you sit here?’ They submitted, ‘By Allah we are sitting here only for this purpose.’ The Holy Prophet (SAWS) said, ‘I have not made you take oath for any doubt but the thruth is that Gabriel came and told me that Allah is expressing His pride on you in front of angels.’”

The above tradition was recorded by Muslim in as-Sahih (4:2075#2701), Tirmidhi in as-Sunan (5:460#3379), Nasai in  as-Sunan (8:249#5426), Ahmad bin Hambal in al-Musnad (4:92) and others.

ANGELS SEARCH FOR ZIKR GATHERINGS

It is mentioned in Muslim in his as-Sahih (4:2069#2689) & Ahmad bin Hambal in al-Musnad (2:25#7420) & (2:382#8960)

Abu Huraira (RA) narrates that the Holy Prophet (SAWS) said, “Surely there are some angels of Allah (SWT) who conduct patrolling in search of remembrance assemblies (majālis al-dhikr). When they find such an assembly, they join and sit with them…”

ALLAH (SWT) ASKS ANGELS ABOUT THOSE WHO REMEMBER HIM

It is reported in Tirmidhi in al-Jami-us-sahih (5:579#3600)that :

Abu Huraira or Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said, “There are many angels of Allah (SWT), other than the ones who record deeds, who wander around on earth. When they find some people performing remembrance of Allah (SWT), they call other angels, saying, ‘Come to what you are looking for.’ So they come and cover those people up to the lowest heaven. Then Allah (SWT) says, ‘What were My servants doing when you left them?’ The angels say, ‘O Lord, we left them praising You, magnifying You and remembering You.’ Allah (SWT) says, ‘Have they seen Me?’ They reply, ‘No.’” The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said, “Allah (SWT) says, ‘What would have been their condition if they had seen Me?’ They say, ‘If they had seen You, they would have praised You, magnified You and remembered You far more.’ Allah (SWT) says, ‘What are they asking for?’ They reply, ‘They are asking You for Paradise.’ He says, ‘Have they seen it?’ They reply, ‘No.’ He says, ‘What would have been their state if they had seen it?’ They reply, ‘If they had seen it, they would have asked for it more intensely and desired it more earnestly.’ Allah says, ‘What are they seeking My protection from?’ The angels say, ‘They are seeking Your protection from the Fire.’ Allah (SWT) says, ‘Have they seen it?’ They reply, ‘No.’ Allah (SWT) says, ‘What would have been their condition if they had seen it?’ They reply, ‘If they had seen it, they would have fled from it, feared it and sought Your refuge from it even more intensely.’ Allah says, ‘Then bear witness that I have forgiven them.’ They say, ‘There is so and so a great sinner among them; he came only for his personal interest and not to join in remembrance.’ Allah (SWT) says, ‘These are such people that even their companion is not left destitute and unfortunate.’”

The highest and the required degree of Dhikr is to acquire such a solemn state of mind and heart in which we remain continuously full of remembrance of Allah and be never without His thought.  The state of permanent and all pervading God's consciousness is achieved only through continuously engaging the tongue and heart in Dhikr and devout servant of Allah no doubt, achieve this state. The daily five Salaats are no doubt the remembrance of Allah but Dhikr has got a wider sense.  It includes all sorts of the praises, be they with tongue of heart i.e. Salaats, the recitation of Holy Quran, the other prayers, the repetition His sacred names and devoted contemplation on the signs of Allah and the like come under Dhikr.

We are surrounded by evil forces that are trying to deviate us from the right path. To save ourselves from their grips  we must remember Allah in every  possible way. The more we remember Him the more benefited we are. The real Dhiker is that in whatever profession, state or cirumstances a Muslim may be, he should do his best to observe the commands of Allah that are intended for such a situation

" O ye who believe ! Let not your wealth and your children distract you from rembracne of Allah. (63:9)

Thus whoever observes the commandments of Allah applicable to any given time under all circumstances and observe his responsibilities toward his family  and in other worldly affairs like buying and selling, carries out the Dhikr of Allah even while engages in them.

METHOD OF ZIKR OF KHANQAH-E-AAMIRIA

In accordance with the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, Hadrath Qibla (Aamir Kaleemi Shah) has prescribed the daily zikr which can be performed any given time of the day either alone or with a group, slowly or loudly. In addition to this Fas Anfas zikr is also prescribed which a mureed can learn in the company of a nominated Khulafa. The sole objective of these zikrs is to purify the heart from the evils of the world and fill it with remembrance of Allah (SWT).

Perform ablution before zikr and if intends to do zikr after any farz Salaah then complete all the respective nawafil and start the zikr as mentioned below:

Recite Durood-e-Shariff 3 times

  1. LA ILAAHA ANTA YA ALLAH - 33 times
  2. ASTAGHFIRUKA YA ALLAH - 33 Times
  3. ASTAGH FIRUKA YA YA RAHMAN* - 34 Times (*Note: Here Name of Allah is the name mentioned in the Allahu Calender the corresponding day. For E.g if the calender shows todays name of Allah as RAHMAN, then say ASTAGHFIRUKA YA RAHMAN. This is the method of daily zikr with each name everyday)
  4. ASMA AL HUSNA (Beautiful Names) 99 Names of Allah - 3 Times
  5. YA ALLAHU YA ALLAHU YA ALLAHU YA ALLAH - 33 Times
  6.  YA RAHMAN* YA RAHMAN* YA RAHMAN* YA RAHMAN*  - 33 Times
  7. SALLAHU ALA SAYYADINA MUHAMMADANIL AHMED* - 11 Times (*Note: Here too substitue the name of the prophet(SAWS) corresponding to the name mentioned in Allahu Calender)
  8. SALLAHU ALAIKA YA AYYUHANABI UL AHMED* - 11 Times
WA SALLAM ALAIK
    9. ALLAHU ALLAHU ALLAHU ALLAHU - 100 Times
Recite Fatiha, then Dua. This completes the daily Zikr.

WHAT IS ALLAHU CALENDER and ALLAHU Zikr?

To Facilitate the seeker(Mureed) to perform the daily zikr which will include all the names of Allah, a calender is printed and circulated from the tariqa in which the 99 Names of Allah (SWT) & the Prophet (SAWS) are arranged day wise in an orderly manner. Like for e.g. The first name of Allah is ALLAH and Prophet is MUHAMMAD, this if started on 1st January on 2nd January name of ALLAH is RAHMAN and Prophet is AHMED and so on till all the 99 Names are completed (say 9th April). This cycle is again repeated over the consequtive days throught the life. This is called the ALLAHU CALENDER. Each day is referred to as "Youm" meaning day in arabic. If a person from the tariqa asks what is the youm today to another from the tariqa it is generally understood that he is enquiring about the name of Allah and the Prophet on that particular day as per the calender.
This was initiated by Hadrath qibla to ease the seeker in performing the zikr. Also, when one is performing the Zikr, one has to divert his attention completely on the zikr. Like if he is doing zikr with the name of Ghafoor which means The All Forgiving he should remember his wrong deeds and seek repentance.
When 99 names are completed in each cycle, a gathering of all the people from the tariqa is held at his eminence Hadrath Qibla's residence in Chennai where  zikr starts after Fajr and Continues till next Fajr time which is commonly referred to as "Allahu Zikr". After Fajr Salaah, Hadrath Qibla addresses the gathering and the majlis ends with a Dua.

ALLAH BLESS OUR SHAYKH WITH A LONG LIFE AND BLESS US WITH HIS SUHBAT - AAMEEN
